“The Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix is one of the most challenging races of the season because it combines the low-speed corners, and sometimes we get the high winds. Street circuits are obviously tougher. But it's such a unique challenge because it's so fast as well,” said Scott Mitchell-Malm, F1 journalist and contributor to the Race, the world's largest independent motorsport channel, as he shared his insights on the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with AZERTAC.
“So I know the drivers actually really like coming here. And for us working here I think it's one of the better ones with the facilities. It's gone quite quickly, the ten years of hosting the race. It has now become a proper established part of the calendar. I think as an all-round event, it's certainly proven that it deserves to be on the schedule,” he noted.
Noting that he has been covering the races in Baku since 2018, Scott Mitchell-Malm said: "I have come here every year, with the exception of last year."
The F1 journalist also mentioned that he does not root for any specific team in Formula 1, adding that he finds it far more compelling to follow the battles among the smaller, underdogs, like Haas, Cadillac, and others.
