On June 17, Kamran Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General, met with Türkiye’s Chief Ombudsman Mehmet Akarca, who was on a working visit to Azerbaijan.
The Prosecutor General welcomed the guest and emphasized that the strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries, based on the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev’s principle of “one nation, two states,” has seen successful development across all fields. He stated that, thanks to the mutual trust and political will of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, these relations have reached an unparalleled level globally.
He also noted that ensuring human rights and freedoms in Azerbaijan has been identified as one of the main priorities of state policy, adding that the state programs and strategic documents adopted in this area form the basis for systematic action.
Türkiye’s Chief Ombudsman Mehmet Akarca expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, stressing that the numerous meetings held over the years in Ankara, Istanbul, Baku, and Nakhchivan, as well as the productive dialogue established during international events, have made a significant contribution to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Kamran Aliyev awarded Mehmet Akarca the 100th Anniversary Jubilee Medal of the Azerbaijani Prosecution Service in recognition of his contributions to strengthening legal cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, as well as his services in the field of human rights protection.
