Azerbaijan and Türkiye prioritize advanced training courses for judges and prosecutors

Kamran Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General, met with a Turkish delegation led by Yusuf Kuzu, President of the 2nd Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation (Yargıtay).

The Prosecutor General welcomed the delegation and emphasized that the strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries, based on National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s principle of “one nation, two states,” has been successfully developing in all areas.

According to him, as a result of the visionary foreign policies of President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, friendly and fraternal relations between the two states have been further strengthened.

“Regular meetings, close contacts, and reciprocal visits within international events, including joint participation in platforms such as the ongoing fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum, have played an important role in further developing cooperation not only in other fields but also between the legal systems and legal communities of Azerbaijan and Türkiye,” Kamran Aliyev added.

The Prosecutor General expressed condolences over the armed attack on a school in the cities of Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş, which resulted in deaths and injuries, most of them children.

He also wished patience to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident and expressed hope for the swift recovery of the injured.

Yusuf Kuzu conveyed appreciation for the hospitality and highlighted the high level of cooperation between the prosecution, courts, and justice authorities of the two countries.

The sides stated that cooperation between the prosecution, court, and justice systems of both countries continues successfully.

They also stressed the importance of organizing advanced training courses for judges and prosecutors, expressing confidence that relations in this direction will continue to develop further.

The parties exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest, including reforms in the legal and legislative system.
