Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan attended the International Strategic Communication Summit in Şişli. Hakan Fidan said, "We are a country that is at the forefront with its discourse and policies on migration management. Despite this, we see that some western countries expect us to make more effort in the fight against irregular migration. With your permission, I would like to ask these countries frankly: Wouldn't it be easier for us to mobilise the human, political, economic and military means that we have mobilised in the fight against terrorism to fight irregular migration if you supported your ally Turkey rather than a terrorist organisation? We expect our allies and friends to adopt a principled approach against terrorism and not to discriminate between terrorist organisations."
