Flower that nature-loving biology expert Prof. Dr. Haydar Öztaş and his wife Prof. Dr. Fulya Öztaş saw and photographed for the first time in the mountains in Konya was identified as a new plant species. Samples taken from the plant with large bulbs, flat leaves, short stems, conical inflorescence and long flower stalks, detailed laboratory studies and literature comparisons concluded that it represents a new species for science. The species name 'oztasii' (Leopoldia oztasii) was given in memory of Prof. Dr. Fulya and Haydar Öztaş. The species was named as 'Konya morbasi' in Turkish by the authors of the article.
