Baku hosts meeting of experts from OTS Member and Observer States

Baku hosted a meeting of experts from the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Member and Observer States in preparation for the second meeting of ministers and heads of agencies in charge of family issues and social policy of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

Ömer Kocaman, Deputy Secretary General of the TOS, provided an overview of the agenda. He then presented the provisions of the draft Joint Communiqué, along with his proposals.

The meeting was moderated by Jeyran Rahmatullayeva, Head of the Staff of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Affairs. In her remarks, she outlined the work carried out in Azerbaijan in line with the commitments of the Declaration adopted at the first meeting held in Istanbul last year, as well as the implementation of the country’s family policy.

Experts from participating countries shared updates on their national efforts related to the Declaration and exchanged views on other items on the agenda.

The meeting concluded with a discussion of the proposed amendments to the Joint Communiqué, and the final version of the document was agreed upon.
