The Baku Convention Center hosted a premiere of the “Thomas Goltz: Oil Odyssey” documentary, marking the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The event gathered state and governmental officials, the SOCAR leadership, members of the Ministry of Economy, Thomas Goltz’s family members, public figures, as well as 102 students of the Baku Higher Oil School.

The film highlighted the energy strategy defined by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the role of the Azerbaijani oil industry in the country’s modern history, also including the rare archival materials, interviews and personal memories of Thomas Goltz, renowned journalist and a true friend of Azerbaijan.

In his opening remarks, Hafiz Pashayev, Rector of ADA University, described Thomas Goltz as an adventurer, adding that he undertook his adventures in the pursuit of noble causes.

Other speakers included Rufat Hasanov, director of the documentary, Vincent Goltz, brother of Thomas Goltz, and others.
