An exhibition titled “Arabic Manuscripts in the Archives of Azerbaijan” has opened at the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) in Saudi Arabia.
Organized under an agreement reached with the ANAS Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli, the exhibition features a number of ancient Arabic manuscripts preserved in the institute’s collections.
At the opening ceremony, Azerbaijani Ambassador Mutallim Mirzayev briefed Turki bin Mohammed Alshuwaier, Chief Executive Officer of the King Abdulaziz Foundation, on the Arabic manuscripts housed at the Institute of Manuscripts, which is included in the register of UNESCO’s Memory of the World programme.
Turki bin Mohammed Alshuwaier noted that staff members of the King Abdulaziz Foundation are planning to visit Azerbaijan in the near future. As part of the visit, the delegation will tour the Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli to familiarize themselves with other valuable manuscripts.
It is also planned to hold seminars and symposiums in this field.
