TURKPA delegation attends OSCE PA Winter Session in Vienna

A delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), led by Secretary General Ramil Hasan, participated in the 25th Winter Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which kicked off on February 19 at the Congress Center Hofburg in Vienna, Austria.

On the margins of the Plenary Session, the TURKPA delegation, attending with special guest status, met with the delegations of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Hungary, and Uzbekistan. They exchanged views on the ongoing process of obtaining observer status for TURKPA in the OSCE PA and informed them that the required signatures had already been collected and that the necessary procedures had been completed by the TURKPA International Secretariat under the current Chairmanship of Kazakhstan.

Moreover, it was agreed to bring the issue forward for discussion at the next stage in both the Bureau and the Standing Committee of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and to implement a joint roadmap by the delegations to achieve concrete results towards obtaining observer status for TURKPA.

The Winter Meeting of the OSCE PA will run until February 20.
