Evacuation ordered for Azerbaijan’s embassy in Tehran and Consulate General in Tabriz

Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s security measures are being implemented at the highest level. Against the backdrop of regional tensions, the combat readiness of the armed forces has been raised to its maximum level, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, said during a joint briefing with his Moldovan counterpart Mihai Popșoi.

According to the Minister, as part of additional security measures, instructions have been issued for the evacuation of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tehran and the Consulate General in Tabriz, as the safety of Azerbaijani citizens remains the primary focus. The Minister noted that relevant decisions will be made following the results of the ongoing investigation into recent incidents.

Jeyhun Bayramov further stated that the diplomatic mission has received approximately 1,000 requests for assistance. These appeals primarily come from Azerbaijani citizens currently visiting the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.
