TURKPA and Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation sign MoU on cooperation

President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation (TCHF) Aktoty Raimkulova met with Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), ambassador Ramil Hasan.

During the meeting held with participation of the staff members from both organizations, Aktoty Raimkulova congratulated ambassador Ramil Hasan on his election once again as the Secretary General of TURKPA, and provided information on the initiatives being implemented by the TCHF within the framework of the current Chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan.

Ambassador Hasan briefed the guest delegation on the ongoing activities carried out by TURKPA. Speaking about the preparations for conducting a short-term observation of the upcoming constitutional referendum in Kazakhstan to be held on 15 March 2026 by the TURKPA International Referendum Observation Mission, Secretary General noted that the draft Constitution submitted to the referendum foresaw significant changes in the institutional framework of Kazakhstan and underlined the significance of the referendum for Kazakhstan and the Turkic world.

Secretary General also informed about the permanent commissions of TURKPA functioning in various areas of cooperation and emphasized the potential for cooperation between the two organizations on the development of model laws related to cultural heritage within the framework of the relevant permanent commission of TURKPA. He touched on the role of TURKPA as the legislative pillar of Turkic cooperation and expressed readiness to support cooperation initiatives between the two organizations.

During the meeting, the parties further underscored the strategic importance of establishing an effective legislative framework for strengthening cooperation among the Turkic states. In this context, Raimkulova invited the TURKPA delegation to participate in the Strategic Cooperation Conference and Technical Workshop on Turkic Cultural Heritage: Combating Illicit Trafficking of Cultural Property, scheduled to take place in April this year in Gaziantep, Türkiye.

The meeting was followed by the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding aimed at increasing the cultural and political ties among the Turkic States, and promoting the Turkic cultural and political heritage at the regional and international level through implementation of joint initiatives.
