Deputies of the Milli Majlis, Leader of the Working Group for Azerbaijani-Latvian Interparliamentary Relations Kamran Bayramov, the group’s members, Fazil Mustafa and Sevil Mikayilova, met with Daiga Mieriņa, Speaker of the Saeima.

The sides exchanged views on mutual activities across various areas of bilateral relations, noting that Azerbaijan and Latvia are friendly and strategic partners with a shared history and vast opportunities to strengthen cooperation.

The Azerbaijani MPs briefed the Latvian Speaker on the latest developments in the South Caucasus, including the normalization process with Armenia and recent drone attacks launched by Iran against Azerbaijan, and hailed Latvia’s solidarity on these issues.

The delegation also held meetings with the heads of the Saeima committees and toured the Saeima plenary session hall, the Riga Art Nouveau Centre, and the Mežaparks Great Bandstand, key historical and cultural sites of Riga.
