“The Eastern Europe and Central Asia region stands at the intersection of economic transition, urban development, and post-crisis recovery, offering vital opportunities for advancing urban transformation,” Erfan Ali, Director of the UN-Habitat Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, said at a briefing held as part of the 13th Global Baku Forum.
“The UN-Habitat has recently opened a new regional office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in Istanbul. This decision was made at a time of intensified urban development, humanitarian recovery, and economic transformation across the region,” he noted.
