Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the country Lu Mei.

During the meeting, the sides hailed the development of high-level strategic partnership relations between the two countries, adding that after President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to the People's Republic of China last year, the relations have further developed and reached their highest level.

During the conversation, the sides acknowledged that interparliamentary ties constitute a vital component of bilateral relations. They stressed the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation, including the development of relations between friendship groups and committees of parliaments. The meeting also discussed opportunities for further deepening of relations.

The parties noted that Azerbaijan and China collaborate within the international organizations, and that the two countries always support each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
