Humanitarian aid trucks en route to Iran passes through state border

AZERTAC’s regional correspondent reports that Azerbaijani humanitarian aid trucks, dispatched from Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran under the instructions of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, have passed through the Astara state border checkpoint.

The aid was organized following a telephone conversation held on March 8 between President Ilham Aliyev and President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, with the aim of supporting the current needs of the neighboring and friendly Iranian people.

The total volume of the humanitarian assistance amounts to 82 tons, including 76 tons of food products, 4 tons of pharmaceuticals, and 2 tons of medical equipment.

The aid was dispatched by five trucks. In addition, in light of the Novruz holiday, the convoy also included holiday packages and assorted Novruz-related products.

The humanitarian convoy is being accompanied by authorized representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the State Reserves Agency of Azerbaijan, who traveled to Iran to oversee the delivery of the aid.
