A train derailed early on Friday morning between the Dabovo and Raduntsi stations, Maglizh Municipality, Stara Zagora Region, Central Bulgaria, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) reported citing the press office of Holding BDZ – Bulgarian State Railways.
BDZ added that the incident occurred at 7:30 a.m. involving a passenger train travelling from Gorna Oryahovitsa to Stara Zagora. No passengers were injured in the incident, the statement said.
The cause of the incident was a rockfall onto the tracks. The train struck the rocks, causing the locomotive and two of the cars to derail.
Passengers on several trains travelling to and from the stations in Dabovo and Tryavna, Gabrovo Region, Central Bulgaria, are being transported by bus. One bus will depart from the Tryavna Station and one from the Dabovo Station.
The Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry reported that a police team has been dispatched to the scene and an inspection of the accident site is pending.
