As part of her working visit to Istanbul, Türkiye, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with Mohamed Ould Errachid, Speaker of the House of Councillors of Morocco.

The sides hailed the current level of relations between Azerbaijan and Morocco, as well as the development of political dialogue, mutual support and solidarity within international organizations.

They described inter-parliamentary ties as an important tool in the development of bilateral relations, highlighting the importance of expanding contacts between parliamentary committees and friendship groups in this regard.

The parties also emphasized the role of platforms such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network in terms of inter-parliamentary cooperation, stressing the significance of enhancing interaction and coordination in this context.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the House of Councillors of the Kingdom of Morocco.
