Advisor to the President of Somalia: Azerbaijan is a bridge both regionally and between civilizations

“Today, Azerbaijan acts as a bridge both regionally and between civilizations, taking significant steps toward promoting dialogue, peace, and sustainable development,” stated Mohamed Osman Mohamoud, Advisor to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and Founder/CEO of the “Sadar” Institute, during his speech at the first General Assembly of the Global South NGO Platform held as part of Baku Urban Week.

He noted that currently there are more questions than answers, requiring systemic thinking and careful analysis. “We know that more than 2 billion people live in fragile and conflict-affected regions. It is also known that the consequences of climate change negatively affect millions of people. We are aware that millions face hunger and food security issues.”

According to Mohamed Osman Mohamoud, the Global South NGO Platform plays a historic role in uniting communities, amplifying voices, and translating experiences into global action. “Civil society should not remain on the sidelines of the decision-making process. It must stand at the center of shaping our common future.”
