Ebola outbreak resumes in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
Ebola cases have been reported in the eastern Ituri province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

In a statement from the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it was noted that as of May 15, 246 cases and 65 deaths suspected to be caused by the Ebola virus were recorded in the Ituri province. The statement mentioned that out of 20 samples examined by the National Biomedical Research Institute in Kinshasa, the Ebola virus was detected in 13, and the genetic analysis of the virus is ongoing.

The outbreak has been recorded as the '17th Ebola outbreak in the country since 1976.'
