Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated in a social media post that the negotiations between the US and Iran have concluded with an agreement. In his statement, Sharif said, “After intense discussions, we are pleased to announce that a peace agreement has been reached between the US and Iran. Both parties have declared the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. The official signing ceremony will take place on Friday, June 19, in Switzerland.”
Thanking Turkey for its contributions to the agreement, Sharif said, “We thank the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their determination to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the valuable leadership of our partners in mediation, the State of Qatar, for their support in reaching this agreement. Additionally, I especially thank the visionary leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey for their immense contributions to this matter.”

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Garibabadi confirmed that an agreement has been reached with the US, stating that the memorandum of understanding will be signed on June 19 in Switzerland. Iranian media published Garibabadi’s statement regarding the agreement. Emphasizing that the text of the memorandum of understanding is complete, Garibabadi said, “The text of the memorandum of understanding is complete, and the official signing ceremony of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding will take place on Friday in Switzerland. The heads of the two delegations will conduct negotiations to determine future arrangements for the discussions. Until then, the US side’s commitments to end the war, lift the blockade, and release assets will be verified. The 60-day discussions depend on the US fulfilling these commitments.”
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Garibabadi stated that within the 60-day period following the signing of the agreement, issues such as sanctions, the nuclear program, and the economic development mechanism will be negotiated. Highlighting that the agreement also covers Lebanon, Garibabadi said, “It will be announced tonight that the war and military operations on various fronts, including Lebanon, will be immediately and permanently ended.”
