French President Macron Supports US-Iran Agreement

French President Emmanuel Macron made a post on his social media account regarding the peace agreement reached between the US and Iran. Expressing his satisfaction with this agreement, which is the result of diplomatic efforts contributed by many partners, Macron called on all parties to implement the agreement quickly and completely.

Emphasizing that the agreement should allow for the urgent and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, Macron noted that the international mission established with the UK is ready to accompany this process, and existing mechanisms are ready to be activated. Macron underlined that the resumption of maritime traffic without restrictions or transit fees is an indispensable condition for regional stability and the global economy.

Macron stated that this agreement also paves the way for comprehensive negotiations that will serve the peace and security of everyone in the Middle East, and that the process should address concerns regarding Iran's nuclear and ballistic programs as well as its regional policies. Macron conveyed that a solid and lasting peace can only be built in this way and that France is ready to do its part in this regard with its partners.

Drawing attention to the situation in Lebanon, Macron said, “France will continue to fully support the determined efforts of Lebanese authorities to re-establish the sovereignty of the state. The only power capable of ensuring Lebanon's stability, territorial integrity, and meeting the needs of its people is the state. For this, a solid and lasting ceasefire is essential.”
