European Union Council President Antonio Costa stated that they are ready to contribute to advancing a comprehensive strategy for lasting peace across the Middle East, saying, “Weapons must fall silent now.”

European Union (EU) Council President Antonio Costa expressed his satisfaction with the agreement between Washington and Tehran in a post on his social media account. Costa stated, “I eagerly await the end of this costly war and the full restoration of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.”

Costa noted his appreciation for the diplomatic efforts of all parties, emphasizing that weapons must now fall silent and unresolved disputes should be resolved peacefully in accordance with international law.
