Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakçi said, “The agreement with the US includes ending Israel's occupation in Lebanon.”
Iranian media reported that Foreign Minister Abbas Arakçi met with ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of foreign countries. It was stated that the agreement reached with the US and regional developments were evaluated at the meeting. Arakçi noted that the agreement reached with the US will be signed on June 19 in Switzerland, saying, “After this, a new round of negotiations will begin at a location to be determined later, to reach a final agreement between Iran and the US. These negotiations, aimed at reaching a final agreement, will last 60 days. The final agreement will be related to nuclear issues and the lifting of sanctions.”
Arakçi stated that the agreement also includes stopping the war in Lebanon, and mentioned that the memorandum of understanding has two sides. Emphasizing that on one side are the US and Israel, and on the other side are Iran and Hezbollah, Arakçi said, “The end of the war in Lebanon is an integral part of the complete cessation of the war and includes Israel's withdrawal from Lebanese territories. Any future military attack by the Zionist regime on Lebanon and the continuation of the occupation of Lebanese territories will definitely be considered a violation of the agreement from our perspective. In the first stage, we must negotiate to end the war, discuss the Hormuz Strait talks, the maritime blockade, issues related to the release of frozen Iranian funds, the reconstruction issue, and similar topics, and reach a memorandum of understanding. After this, negotiations will continue for another 60 days until a final agreement is reached. In the final agreement, decisions will be made regarding nuclear issues and the lifting of sanctions, and we will reach a final conclusion.”
