U.S. President Donald Trump made a statement regarding the agreement with Iran during a press conference at the G7 Summit held in Evian, France. Trump stated that the Strait of Hormuz would be open by Friday, saying, “Hormuz will be completely free.”
Trump noted that relations with Iran have normalized and they believe the agreement will progress rapidly. Trump said, “It's a great text and it says Iran will never have nuclear weapons. That's what I wanted because I couldn't allow it. The Strait of Hormuz will also be open for free. They said it would only be for 60 days, but it will be permanently free.”
