EU leaders gather in Brussels
The leaders of the European Union member countries will address support for Ukraine, competitiveness, trade relations with China, future budgets, and developments in the Middle East at today's summit.

The EU Leaders Summit will be held in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, with the participation of the heads of state or government of the 27 member countries of the European Union (EU). The meeting, chaired by EU Council President Antonio Costa, will also be attended by EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.

At the summit, leaders will first exchange views with European Parliament (EP) President Roberta Metsola. Following Metsola, the summit will continue with a session attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The summit will discuss the opening of the first chapter cluster in the EU membership process of Ukraine and Moldova and evaluate progress in the process. Leaders will also discuss new sanctions against Russia and the continuation of financial and military support to Ukraine.
