Trump: We didn't sit at the table out of desperation, Iran did
U.S. President Donald Trump responded to criticisms regarding the memorandum signed with Iran, saying, “We didn't sit at the table out of desperation, Iran did. They are finished.”
U.S. President Donald Trump responded to criticisms regarding the memorandum signed with Iran in his social media posts. Trump, stating that the war weakened Iran, argued that Iran's military capacity has been largely destroyed.
Criticizing the Democrats' assessments of the process, Trump said, “The war weakened Iran. They no longer have an Air Force, Navy, anti-aircraft equipment, radar, or practically anything else, yet the Democrats say Iran is in a better position now than it was 4 months ago. Can you imagine them getting away with this? How stupid can some people be?”
Claiming that Iran was forced to agree out of desperation, Trump emphasized that they would adhere to the 60-day negotiation process but would not give Iran any financial concessions. Trump stated, “We didn't sit at the table out of desperation, Iran did. They are finished! We will use the 60-day period to the end. They won't get any money, not even 10 cents.”
