The Italian Ministry of Health noted that a heatwave is expected to affect many cities over the weekend, issuing a 'red' alert, the highest risk warning, for 8 cities including Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Florence, Milan, Perugia, Rieti, and Turin. For the capital Rome, a 'orange' alert, the second highest level, was issued for today. The Ministry of Health urged people to avoid going outside between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM to protect themselves from the heat.
