It has been reported that 845 schools will be closed today in France due to extreme heat.
The French meteorological agency Meteo-France announced that a 'red' alert has been issued in 35 departments and an 'orange' alert in 45 departments due to extreme heat. It was stated that the alert level will be raised to 'red' in 49 departments and 'orange' in 40 departments today due to the heat.
French Minister of Education Edouard Geffray announced that 845 schools will be closed today due to the heat. Geffray also stated that 1800 schools will change their class schedules.
