The US administration has reportedly granted temporary permission for the sale of Iranian-origin oil products until August 21.
The US Department of the Treasury has issued a temporary general license allowing the production, delivery, and sale of crude oil and petrochemical products originating from Iran until August 21. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that the decision is linked to ongoing negotiations in Switzerland. In a post on his social media account, Bessent said, "In line with the productive discussions continuing in Switzerland, Iran has committed to allowing free and open passage in the Strait of Hormuz and to accepting International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors into the country."
