Iranian Parliament and Negotiation Committee Chairman Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf stated that the management of the Strait of Hormuz will not return to its pre-war state, saying, “Of course, international regulations will be adhered to, but Iran will manage the Strait of Hormuz.”
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf spoke on a plane following negotiations with the US in Switzerland. Expressing their support for opening the Strait of Hormuz to international maritime traffic, Qalibaf said, “I hope we can make the strait functional again in terms of passage and bring prosperity back to both the regional and global economy.”
Qalibaf stated that the management of the Strait of Hormuz will never return to its pre-war state, saying, “Of course, international regulations will be adhered to, but Iran will manage the Strait of Hormuz.”
Emphasizing that they achieved good gains in the talks in Switzerland, especially regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Lebanon, oil exemptions, and the release of frozen funds, Qalibaf conveyed that they are still at the beginning of their work and believe they need to continue their efforts.
