Colombian President Petro: Election results should be investigated
Colombian President Gustavo Petro has called for an investigation into the ballot results after right-wing Abelardo de la Espriella narrowly won the presidential election.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro, in a statement on his social media account, called on all democratic lawyers to monitor the official counting results across the country. Petro, noting that the ruling party's leftist candidate Ivan Cepeda lost to right-wing Abelardo de la Espriella by 0.3%, said, "More than 33,000 tables have already been contested. All tables affected by the change in IP address of the servers serving the tables in the US and the preliminary and official counting computer system should be contested."

Petro stated that what Abelardo promised during the campaign process was completely wrong, saying, "If Abelardo truly becomes the new president after the official counts, he will make a big mistake by reversing the obtained and existing reforms."
