China: We Support Efforts to Establish Peace in the Middle East

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun made an assessment regarding the developments in the Middle East at a press conference held today. Guo stated that China maintains its stance that tensions in the region and disputes between parties can only be resolved through dialogue and negotiation. Emphasizing that his country always adopts a fair and impartial stance, Guo said, “We support the efforts to establish peace in the Middle East.”

Spokesperson Guo expressed their opposition to the use of force and the threat of force, noting that the memorandum of understanding signed between the US and Iran sends a positive message to the international community. Highlighting that maintaining and implementing the memorandum is a shared responsibility of all parties, Guo stated, “China supports Iran's efforts to protect its sovereignty, security, and national dignity. At the same time, it encourages Tehran to develop its relations with Gulf countries and other countries in the region.”
