“I would like to express my gratitude to the fraternal country, the Republic of Azerbaijan, for assuming the chairmanship and hosting the conference. The third meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Groups of Azerbaijan, Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, held in Baku last year, made a significant contribution to further strengthening our fraternal relations,” said Ziya Öztürkler, Speaker of the Assembly of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), at the official opening ceremony of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States in Baku.
He noted with regret that many parts of the Islamic world are currently facing a severe humanitarian crisis.
“Confronted with this reality, Islamic countries must stand united, speak with one voice and one heart, demonstrate a common, strong and determined will, and act together,” the TRNC Speaker of the Assembly said.
