Trump: Iran did not demand money for passage through Hormuz
US President Trump announced that Iran has communicated that no fees will be charged for passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

US President Donald Trump shared a post on his social media account regarding ongoing negotiations with Iran. Trump stated, "Iran has informed us that, contrary to provocative fake news claiming otherwise, no transit fees, insurance costs, or any other charges have been demanded or collected by Iran from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz."

Trump noted that if the situation were otherwise, negotiations would 'immediately end,' adding, "No money has been given to Iran by the US, nor has any of their own money been released. A portion of the money belonging to Iran, which is entirely controlled by the US, will be given to American farmers and livestock producers to purchase corn, wheat, soybeans, and other food products. Iran has an urgent need for food. We will purchase this food for them solely from the United States."
