Speaker of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly hails Baku-hosted PUIC session

“It is a source of pride that such an important event, which contributes to the unity of the Islamic world and its future development potential, is being held in Baku. I express my gratitude for the high-level organization of this prestigious platform,” said Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the official opening ceremony of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States.

He noted that it is possible to achieve goals and secure success without losing faith and conviction.

“Iran remains committed to its fundamental principles. Experience shows that diplomacy can only be successful on the basis of mutual respect, equality, and respect for the sovereignty of states,” the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly emphasized.

He stated that the peoples of the region should determine their own future and make decisions regarding their destiny themselves.

“The security of the region must first and foremost be ensured by the countries of the region. We see the future of the region in cooperation, the development of mutual relations, and peaceful coexistence. We believe that the path to lasting peace and stability lies through unity, dialogue, and common agreements,” Ghalibaf added.
