A 6.9 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Iwate Prefecture in northeastern Japan.
According to data from the US Geological Survey (USGS), a 6.9 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Kuji city in Iwate Prefecture, located in the northeast of the country. No casualties or damage were reported following the earthquake, which was recorded at a depth of 51.7 kilometers.
