Macron: Ankara Summit to Reinforce NATO's European Leg
French President Emmanuel Macron said, “The 36th NATO Summit to be held in Ankara will strongly reinforce the alliance's European leg.”

French President Emmanuel Macron spoke at a joint press conference following a meeting in Berlin, Germany, with the leaders of Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Poland, known as 'E5', along with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Macron stated that during the meeting, they discussed the issues of Ukraine and Iran, noting that they are going through a period of consensus between Europeans and Americans.

Macron noted that they support the memorandum of understanding signed between the US and Iran, saying, “We are ready to do our part on this matter. We are also ready to contribute by assisting with a temporary mission in the Strait of Hormuz or with a permanent peace in Lebanon.”

Macron emphasized that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz provided a comprehensive summary regarding the upcoming NATO Summit in Ankara, stating, “The Ankara Summit will strongly reinforce NATO's European leg.”
