Russia: Political and diplomatic solutions possible for Ukraine crisis
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that it is possible to resolve the Ukraine crisis through political and diplomatic methods.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov attended the 12th Primakov Readings International Scientific and Expert Forum held in the capital, Moscow. Speaking at the forum, Lavrov recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump met in Anchorage, Alaska, in 2025, and stated that they are committed to the agreements reached at the summit regarding the resolution of the Ukraine crisis.

Lavrov reported that Ukraine has been conducting attacks on Russian territory and noted that Western countries are assisting Kiev in this matter. Lavrov used the expression, “Ukraine cannot carry out these terrorist acts without the direct support of the US.”

Commenting on the possibility of resolving the Ukraine crisis through peaceful means, Lavrov said, “I am still confident that the situation in Ukraine can be resolved through political and diplomatic methods. Putin has said this repeatedly. We are ready for negotiations if intelligent people sit at the negotiation table and make intelligent proposals. We are ready for negotiations but will not allow ourselves to be deceived. We will not stop the conflicts to restart negotiations. We will not settle for temporary solutions to the crisis and will not accept ultimatums on this issue,” he said.
