The Baku Declaration was adopted at the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).
The text of the declaration was read out by Azerbaijani MP Jeyhun Mammadov.
The declaration reaffirmed commitment to the objectives set out in the Charter of the OIC Parliamentary Union, as well as the obligation to respect the goals and principles of the Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Charter of the United Nations, and international law.
At the same time, considering the numerous complex challenges and evolving threats faced by states, including cyberattacks, terrorism, and the growing manifestations of Islamophobia, the declaration expressed profound concern about the negative impact of these threats on international peace and security, as well as on peaceful coexistence and social solidarity among Muslim communities worldwide.
