The US military stated, “We conducted additional strikes on multiple targets in Iran.”
Iranian media reported that explosion sounds were heard from the village of Tahiruyi in the city of Sirik, Hormozgan province. Additionally, it was reported that the village of Mesen on Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz in Iran was targeted in the attack.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that they conducted additional strikes on multiple targets in Iran. The statement said, “Iran was given an opportunity to comply with the ceasefire agreement; however, Iran chose not to take this opportunity by launching a unilateral drone attack on the 'M/T Kiku' tanker this morning. The Panama-flagged tanker was passing near the Strait of Hormuz with more than two million barrels of crude oil. CENTCOM forces conducted airstrikes today in direct response to Iran's ongoing aggression towards commercial vessels. US military aircraft targeted Iran's military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense facilities, drone storage facilities, and mine-laying capabilities. The passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz continues. US forces remain vigilant, effective, and ready,” the statement said.
