The Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced that they launched missile and drone attacks on US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain in response to the US's recent attacks on Iran.
The Iranian media published a statement by the Revolutionary Guards. The statement reported that the navy and air forces of the army gave a 'determined response' to the recent attacks by the US. It was noted that in the operation carried out in coordination by the Revolutionary Guards' Naval Forces and Aerospace Forces, a total of 8 significant US military facilities, including the Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the US Fifth Fleet at Salman Port in Bahrain, were hit. The operation was stated to be a retaliation against the recent military attacks by the Washington administration on Iran.
The statement expressed that the US launched attacks on 5 points along the Hormuz Strait, citing the Revolutionary Guards' Naval Forces' intervention against a non-compliant ship as a justification. It was emphasized that Iran is responsible for managing maritime traffic in the Hormuz Strait under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, and warned that interventions against ships violating the rules would become more severe. Additionally, the Revolutionary Guards stated that the violation of the ceasefire is contrary to the first article of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and that such a situation would halt all ongoing processes.
