Iranian Foreign Minister Arakchi Calls on the US
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi stated that all provisions of the memorandum of understanding signed with the US must be adhered to.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi held a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein in Baghdad. In his speech at the conference, Arakchi stated that the memorandum of understanding signed between the US and Iran was also accepted by Israel, saying, "Unfortunately, the Zionist entity continues its airstrikes on Lebanon."

Arakchi conveyed that Washington must 'fulfill its responsibility and force Israel to end its attacks in Lebanon' to end the war in the country. Arakchi used the expression, "The withdrawal of Israel from the areas it occupied in Lebanon was the first article of the memorandum of understanding."

Noting that the Strait of Hormuz will be entirely under Iran's control and management for 30 days, Arakchi said, "I conveyed the latest developments regarding the memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the US to my Iraqi counterpart. Once all obstacles are removed, the full capacity of the strait will be restored. This responsibility belongs entirely to Iran. No other party or state can intervene in this matter. Any intervention or unilateral action will worsen the situation and delay the reopening of the strait," he stated.

IRAQ: WE OPPOSE ATTACKS ON IRAN

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, in his speech at the press conference, condemned the attacks on Iran. Emphasizing that it is regrettable for Iran to become a target of war and aggression, Hussein said, "We do not support expanding the scale of war in the Gulf and we oppose attacks on Iran. In the past, we assumed a mediating role between Tehran and Washington. Problems should only be solved through negotiations. The blockade on Iran and the agreement to open the Strait of Hormuz should also be implemented," he said.
