European Union Presidency Transferred to Ireland
The rotating presidency of the European Union among member states has been transferred to Ireland.

The rotating presidency of the European Union (EU), which is assumed by member states every six months, has today been transferred from the Greek Cypriot Administration, which has held the position since January 1, to Ireland. The Dublin administration announced its slogan as 'Strength in Unity', with 'competitiveness, values, and security' also highlighted as themes of the presidency.

Ireland will hand over the presidency to Lithuania on January 1, 2027.
