Over 842,000 households without power in the US
On July 4th Independence Day, marking the 250th anniversary of the US, over 842,000 households were left without power due to extreme heat.

According to the PowerOutage website, which tracks power outages in the US, more than 842,000 homes in some states were left without electricity due to extreme heat. In the capital, Washington, the celebrations for the country's 250th anniversary and the July 4th Independence Day were interrupted by a severe storm.

US President Donald Trump announced on his social media account that he would deliver his speech as planned, regardless of the weather conditions. Trump stated, "Storms add a chance to every situation and make events a bit more exciting. We will wait, whether it's at 2:00 or an hour later. No matter what, I will be there. I will not let the rain hinder our 250th anniversary celebrations."
