It has been reported that 25 people died as a result of a prison riot in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lankan media reported that 2 inmates died in a riot that broke out yesterday at Negombo Prison. Officials announced that 23 more people lost their lives in incidents that intensified again this morning. Authorities stated that among the deceased, 5 were guards and 20 were inmates, and approximately 100 people were injured in the riot. It was noted that security measures in the area have been increased and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
