The First International Islamic Forum, dedicated to the theme "Islamic Civilization: The Path to Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment," commenced in Tashkent.

In his speech at the forum, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, emphasized the vital importance of international humanitarian cooperation, peace, tolerance, and intercultural dialogue. He highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s efforts to study and promote Islamic heritage. He also highlighted the further development of fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, as well as religious and spiritual cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

Noting that the seventh meeting of the OTS Muslim religious leaders is scheduled to be held in Baku this September, Pashazadeh stated that an international conference dedicated to the legacy of the prominent Islamic scholar Seyyid Yahya Bakuvi is also planned as part of the event.
