The US military announced it has launched new attacks against Iran, citing 'targeting of commercial vessels' as the reason.
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that additional attacks have been launched against Iran following the directive of US President Donald Trump, with the aim of reducing Iran's capacity to threaten 'freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz'. The statement also noted that the US holds Iran responsible for recent 'unjust attacks' on international commercial vessels freely navigating this vital international waterway.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that explosion sounds were heard in various regions in the southern parts of the country, particularly near the cities of Bushehr, Bandar Abbas, and Sirik.
