Iran summoned the UK's Ambassador to Tehran, Hugo Shorter, to the Foreign Ministry over 'security accusations' by British officials against the Tehran administration.
Iranian media reported that Alireza Yusefi, Director General for Western Europe at the Foreign Ministry, delivered a protest note to Tehran Ambassador Hugo Shorter regarding the UK's stance. The statement declared that the allegations by British officials that Iran was planning actions targeting security in the UK were 'baseless and false.' It was claimed that these accusations were intended to divert criticism from the UK's policies that violate international law and its support for the US and Israel. Iran also accused the UK of 'hosting and supporting anti-Iranian terrorist networks and violent groups,' calling on the London administration to cease these activities.
