Over 5,000 people died due to extreme heat in Germany
It was reported that approximately 5,120 people lost their lives due to extreme heat in Germany this year.

The report published by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) stated that the extreme heat waves in Germany have led to an increase in the number of deaths. The report emphasized that by the end of June, temperatures had reached 'record levels', and approximately 5,120 people died due to extreme heat from the 15th week to the 26th week of 2026.

The report noted that especially the elderly were affected by the extreme heat, stating that by June 28, 2,950 of those who died due to extreme heat were over the age of 85.
