“Zangezur” tanker delisted from UK’s sanctions list

The Aframax-type “Zangezur” tanker, owned by a joint venture between ASCO, a company within AZCON Holding, and SOCAR, has been delisted from the United Kingdom’s sanctions list, and the sanctions imposed on it have been fully lifted.

The relevant decision was adopted by the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) on 7 July 2026.

The positive resolution of the matter was made possible as a result of coordinated diplomatic and legal efforts undertaken by the Azerbaijani state.

In April of this year, by a relevant decision of the Council of the European Union, the ASCO-owned vessel “Zagatala”, as well as the “Shusha”, “Garabagh”, “Khankendi” and “Zangezur” tankers owned by the joint venture between ASCO and SOCAR, were also delisted from the European Union’s sanctions list.
